Meine Anti-Aging-Hautpflegeroutine (13 Schritte, Morgens + Abends

Anti-aging skin routine for women 35 — this is mine, built over two years of trial, research, and a lot of skincare products that didn’t make the cut.

That was the moment I stopped treating skincare as an afterthought and started treating it like training – with intention, consistency, and the right tools for the job. Two years, dozens of products, and a lot of research later, I’ve built a routine that genuinely works. Not just for me — but for women in their 35s, 40s, and 50s who want real results without a 45-minute bathroom ritual.

This is that routine. Thirteen steps, two sessions a day – and every single product earns its place.

Here’s what actually happens to your skin after 35: collagen production drops by about 1% per year. Skin cell turnover slows down — dead cells sit on the surface longer, which causes that dullness nobody talks about. Estrogen levels start fluctuating, which affects moisture retention and elasticity. And the antioxidant defenses that used to protect you from UV damage start getting less efficient.

Translation: the generic “cleanser, toner, moisturizer” routine your 25-year-old self used is no longer enough. You need actives. Antioxidants. SPF that you actually wear. And a system that addresses both surface-level concerns and what’s happening deeper in the skin.

That’s exactly what works – and what I’m sharing with you today.

Your morning routine has one job: protect. Protect against UV, free radicals, and environmental stress – while keeping your skin hydrated and primed. Here’s exactly what I do.

I don’t double-cleanse in the morning – that would be far too stripping. Instead, I use this incredibly gentle marine-based cleanser from Elemis that removes overnight residue without disturbing the moisture barrier. The Magnesium and Zinc complex actually energizes the skin while cleansing. It leaves my face feeling awake, not squeaky-clean. If your skin is on the oilier side, a light micellar water first works beautifully too.

I apply this toner from Paula’s Choice to slightly damp skin – that’s the trick. The Omega fatty acids and Hyaluronic Acid in this formula lock in moisture and create the perfect base layer for the actives that follow. Think of it as priming the canvas before you paint. Skip this step and your serums will absorb less effectively. It’s that simple.

This is non-negotiable for me. 25% stable Vitamin C every single morning – for radiance, collagen stimulation, and maximum antioxidant protection against UV damage. Vitamin C is the ingredient most backed by research for anti-aging, and the morning is exactly when it should be used. It works synergistically with SPF, making your sun protection significantly more effective. Two to three drops, pressed gently into the skin after the toner.

Here’s where it gets interesting. Vitamin C and Glutathione used together create a synergistic antioxidant effect that neither ingredient achieves alone – Glutathione actually recycles oxidized Vitamin C, making the whole system more powerful. On top of that, this formula contains pro-collagen peptides and Ceramides that firm and repair the skin barrier simultaneously. I’ve noticed a real difference in skin brightness and texture since adding this step.

If you do nothing else from this list, wear SPF every single day. UV exposure is responsible for up to 80% of visible skin aging – wrinkles, dark spots, loss of firmness. All of it. This cream gives me the marine collagen actives I need plus SPF 30 protection in one step. It finishes beautifully under makeup. Non-negotiable, rain or shine, indoor or outdoor.

The lips are often the first place to show age – and the most neglected area in most skincare routines. Pro-collagen peptides plus Shea Butter keep my lips full, smooth, and defined. This always goes on last – it seals everything underneath. A small but genuinely meaningful step.

If morning is about protecting, evening is about repairing. Your skin does the majority of its cellular renewal work while you sleep – so this is when the real magic happens. Here’s the exact order I follow.

I stopped using cotton pads and it made a noticeable difference. Cotton pads tug at the skin – and over thousands of uses, that tugging adds up. The Clean Skin Club towels are ultra-soft, single-use biodegradable cloths that remove makeup gently and hygienically with micellar water. Zero rubbing. Zero bacteria. A genuinely better system than anything I used before

Double cleansing in the evening isn’t optional – it’s essential. The first step removes surface makeup and sunscreen. This second cleanse goes deeper, actually cleaning inside the pores. When I skip it, my actives don’t penetrate as well and I can feel it the next morning. Same product as the morning, used properly: massage for 60 seconds, rinse thoroughly.

I layer this in two to three times, patting gently each time. Fermented Black Rice is one of the most powerful botanical antioxidants I’ve found – and the Hyaluronic Acid delivers deep hydration that plumps the skin and allows the actives that follow to penetrate more effectively. It feels like drinking water for your face.

This is the most important step — and the one that requires the most precision. I never combine Retinol and BHA on the same night. They work on alternating schedules:

  • Monday / Wednesday / Friday: Paula’s Choice RESIST 1% Retinol Booster
  • Tuesday / Saturday / Sunday: Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA

Retinol is the gold standard in anti-aging – it stimulates collagen production, accelerates cell turnover, and genuinely resurfaces the skin over time. Introduce it slowly (once per week for the first month) and always follow with a rich moisturizer. The BHA -Salicylic Acid at 2% – deep-cleans pores, improves texture, and is particularly effective for combination skin. These two ingredients do the heavy lifting in my routine.

Freeze-dried collagen peptides + Niacinamide seal everything in and deliver deep hydration that lasts through the night. Niacinamide also helps minimize pores, even skin tone, and strengthen the barrier – a perfect complement to the Retinol and BHA. The texture is light enough not to feel heavy but effective enough that I wake up with genuinely soft, plump skin

Marine algae, Padina Pavonica and Ginkgo Biloba work overnight to support collagen synthesis and restore radiance while you sleep. This is always the last skincare step – it seals everything underneath and does its work while your skin is in full repair mode. A pea-sized amount, pressed gently into the skin rather than rubbed.

The absolute final step. This leave-on overnight treatment works while you sleep to repair and plump the lips – so you wake up with a noticeably softer, more defined lip line. I’ve used many lip products and nothing compares to a proper overnight mask for consistent results. It takes five seconds to apply and the results genuinely show.
